September was . . . // At the Park

September was . .  Two Excursions to the park; to wade through the creek and climb That Tree, as tradition requires, and just enjoy each others company and the leafy green of the woods.

 Why this picture? Well, it's just the inner artist in me.

The creek beckoned us . . .

 and we quickly rolled up jeans . . .

and shed our shoes.

I absolutely LOVE how all the reflections came out; this is the first time we've been to the creek since I got my new camera and choosing my focus point is now a snap!

A couple days later, my sister and I took a walk through it again, this time with our best friend. (And by 'best friend' I mean we've-know-each-other-since-we-were-three, best friend!)

They're so cute.... =)

As a bonus this photo is also Straight Out Of Camera (or SOOC) No editing involved!

This one is SOOC too, it's such a joy to nail the exposure In Camera! =D

These couple of photos weren't what I was originally going for, but I ended up liking the strong shadows and subdued color after all.

September was . . .

 . . . Cool and Green.

September was the perfect transition   from Summer to Autumn.

Around the middle of the month the mornings started to come with a chill, and the evenings left with a  promise of dewdrops.

 The afternoons kept their sunny warmth; a lingering last taste of summer.

Shadows frolicked on the fence . . . 

 . . .  and the sun cast shafts of light through the branches of the evergreen. 

It was certainly a blessed month and I'm very thankful for the rain God sent, both physical and spiritual.

"Blessed is the man
    who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
    nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
² but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
    and on his law he meditates day and night.

³ He is like a tree
    planted by streams of water

September was also Happily Busy and full of New Photographs, but as I  never got around to actually posting them, stay tuned to a few more "September was..." posts.  =)

October 4th // Days of Autumn 1

Today; is quite possibly my favorite day of the year.

Because October is here . . . and I just have a thing for the number 4.

Just at the turn of the month, bits of golden yellow are appearing in the trees. In a sweeping glance everything still seems to be the green of September, but a leaf here, a leaf there, suddenly wink at you in the cool breeze; and that happy feeling of "IT'S AUTUMN!" blows away all other thoughts.

Some other things I delight in finding during this splendiferous season are:

Snacking on Autumn Olive berries . . .  

Spotting the resident Box Turtle, Lemon, crackling through the lemon balm . . .

Squirrels . . .

Brilliant BLUE skies . . .

And the Dew that settles on the deck . . .

And the Wind that rushes among the leaves.

Autumn.
