*WaterSplash*

I like how this edit pulled red and green tones from the seemingly blue water . . .

Rainbows and Raindrops

Thinking about rainbows has brought that passage from Genesis to mind:

"And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations : I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh."
 ~ Genesis  9 : 12 - 15

I wrote down some of my thoughts in an earlier post , but I was thinking again about it and wondering why that story is in the Bible. I mean, the average person today never has any worries that the earth will flood. They see a rainbow and think it's pretty, but it doesn't make them think about anything else. So why does God still send rainbows? Is there something else they are to remind us of?

Then I remembered why God flooded the earth in the first place; mankind was wicked. All the people God created in His image to take dominion over the earth, were ignoring Him completely and trying as hard as they could not to take dominion. Out of ALL the people on the earth; only a handful still followed and loved their Creator.

So, the rainbow is a comforting assurance; but also a reminder that we Christians can get off the path.
If I'm not careful and don't guard my heart daily, I can easily start making little choices that take my focus away from God and lead me in a different way.

Just some thoughts.

God Bless!

Grapes an' Tulips

Grape Hyacinths that is.

I love these flowers.

I'm sure after you've had a look; you will too. ;)

A verse from the song "All Things Bright and Beautiful" comes to mind:

Each little flow'r that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.

And when looking at them, it's quite clear that they didn't just happen by accident, and like everything else, they were designed by God.
Small and insignificant though they are, one of the many hundreds of thousands of flowers He made, they are still made with care and beauty.

I like to think of them as little Blueberry Trees.

Some of them are planted in a puddle of grass, creating a splash of Purple, growing Will-Nilly, Hither and Yon.

The rest are on a sort of mini hill, just spilling over and anon....

And really, each individual flower, especially the top buds that haven't opened yet, kind of look like a water balloon.
Don't you think so?

But that could just be me.                          =)

You also might notice that the unopened buds is imprinted with a star . . .

Behind them are the Tulips :

We had a nice flock of them last Spring and this year they popped up again, and are soon to bloom!

Which means yes, the rest of these pictures are also from last year.  =)

Partly because I took some rather good pictures last year, but didn't have any way to share them then . . .

...And partly because if I took any more... I'd have to go out and buy my own memory drive. ;D

Aren't these leaves just awesomely Green?

Remember that Riverbirch tree from the second picture? It casts some neat shadows across the Tulips around noon.

The leaves are funny too, because they have tiny little hairs that make the raindrops ball up and roll around!

Lastly, every good writer has a conclusion, so here's mine:

Psalm 92: 1-2

"It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
    to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
    and your faithfulness by night"

God Bless!
