The Day we fed our leaf Bouquet to Goats. . .

It started out as a fun, autumn themed photoshoot; but along the way we had crazy hair thanks to the wind, goats eyeing our handpicked maple leaves, threw armfuls of leaves up into the air and just generally had a good time. ;)
 {But then again, we always have a good time out on our friends' hobby farm...;)}

It was windy . . . but delightfully so. ;)

Gotta love how only a few hairs decided to go with the wind...little rebels!

And then- having made the most of our whimsical bouquet . . .

  . . .  we happened to wander over near the field where the goats were busy de-leafing a fallen tree branch . . .

When suddenly- one looks up from his dry, crunchy meal, and espies tender, fresh leaves, tantalizingly near-

I wouldn't consider myself a goat expert, but I imagine what they felt at that moment must have been similar to the elation we would feel on coming upon a piece of chocolate cake after just resigning ourselves to eating stale crackers . . . ;)

Needless to say, they got a lil' excited-  and the fallen branch was immediately forgotten. 

I'd like to be able to say that the goats were unselfish and each one got to partake of this delicacy, but I'm afraid that wouldn't be the truth . . . a bit of headbutting occurred as a result. ;D

Goats!

As I mentioned before, I have a friend who makes and sells homemade goats-milk soap.
Their goats had kids a few weeks ago, and just a few days after the first couple were born, they invited us out to come see and take pictures of them!

 Goats are indeed well known for eating clothes, but this baby goat wasn't eyeing the skirt as potential food-

They were more interested in snuggling!  = )

As I've never been around baby goats before, I wasn't sure quite what to expect, so I was rather surpriseed when one of them rammed his little head gently into my knee like a puppy!

In fact, they were a lot like puppies, except that they didn't lick you, though they would kinda nibble on your fingers if you held them out...

Caught this one trying to be 'grown up' and eat sticks or leaves from the mulch pile!

We spent most of the time running up and down the mulch pile, with them leaping, jumping and falling after us.  ;)

Somehow, it seems like this picture needs a caption; cause the one on the right looks like he's plotting something for his sister...
