Nine

I've counted 'em all up.

We have Nine Robin nests in our yard.

You're probably thinking "Woa! They must have a ton of trees!"

Cloooooose, but also a mile off. ;)

They decided not to use the trees . . .

See what happened is this: One day a robin started building her nest. Then another female robin saw her and said "Ooooh, what a good idea!" and the second robin started building a nest on the steps as well. This did not agree with the first robin, who chased her off repeatedly. (Which is probably why there's a nest on so many of the steps!)
Eventually, the second robin gave up and built her nest elsewhere.

Also, since she built her nest in view of the window, we got to see how a robin  nest is made!
She started by gathering and arranging wisps of dried grass, then (and I never would have guessed that they do this) she plopped down in the nest and fluffed herself out as much as she could- to round it out! Up, down, fluff, up, down, fluff...etc. Each time turning about 90 degrees.

Is that cool or what!   =D

Trees in Bloom #2 // Bradford Pear

This particular tree is in New Mexico...

Just outside the local Yarn store to be exact. (You'd never've guessed, would you? Luckily it was back-lit from the right direction, with the parking lot behind me.)

Yep, while my mother and sister went in to look at yarn, I stayed outside to look at this lovely, fluffy and, sadly, smelly tree. [Luckily I didn't keel over from the fumes! ;D]

Both of these I took with the WB (White balance) on Tungsten (Which turns outdoor settings blue) to try and get a crisper white. It almost worked. Before I deleted them all though, I tried a certain edit I like and Violia! I got the cool, shady white I was looking for.

Although... does the compostiton of this one drive you crazy? I'm trying to decide whether its just unique...or squirrely.
What do ya'll think?
Be honest now... ;)

Yessireebob! I sure had a blast with that tree, as the only other Pear tree I've shot was more leaves than flowers . . .  =/

Which, in a way, made the few flowers there were all the prettier, since there were less of them.

(If that makes any sense!)

If you just can't get enough of spring and these beautiful white flowers, you should go Here an' see some more!  =D

God Bless!

P.s. I got the title of the other tree wrong!
It's actually a Plum tree, not an Apricot!
My apologies.   =)

Trees in Bloom #1 // PlumTree

So I was lookin' through my pictures, and noticed that I have a lot of pictures of various trees in bloom, too many for one post though, but I wanted some rhyme to the reason, and suddenly "Voila!"
I had the bright idea of doing a series for a little while, (about 5 or 6 posts) of various trees in their "Spring Apparel"  to show off all the different kinds of flowers and their colors, in all their God given, gently glowing, glory.

The Plum trees from New Mexico will start it off :

God Bless!

P.s. There'll be Redbuds, Pear tree, and Maple flowers to come!

Little Green Buds

I'm kind of a leafy person,

and I'm a Green kind of person,

So, naturally, I take pictures of Little Green Leaves . . .

 . . . Because I just love them. ♥  (Big surprise there!)

And more importantly, it's enthralling and humbling to reflect on the fact that I know the One who thought them up, created them, and sparked in me an appreciation for them.

They're just leaves after all.

Still, they declare His glory by doing just what He made them to do.

I think we  I could learn a lesson from these leaves; they don't compare themselves to flowers and wish they smelled good, they don't try to stay the same size, and they don't wish they were a Ladybug that could fly! They're content to be little green leaves.

They don't complain about it either.

Like it says in Philippians 2 : 14-16  (Paul writing)

"Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holing fast to the Word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain."

God Bless!
