Days of Autumn 8 : Leaves from last year

To juggle or blog? That is the question.
You can see which won.
Still, it's kinda short, because I don't have much else prepped.

The Honey locus trees were very colorful last year too,  and I have some favorites I thought I'd share.

This might be my very favorite, the colors are all vibrant, all of them sit beside each other on the color wheel, and then the black branches dashing through.

Looks good in sepia too!

A Bit of Fall . . .

Has touched my backyard!  = D

And when the bush is between you and the sun . . . everything just lights up!

   This is my neighbors tree down the street; just one branch turning red among the green.

The leaves were almost solid red, which you don't see too often, and they almost look pink with sidelight!

Colorado - Frisco river walk

We stopped in Frisco to walk by the river. And take pictures. =D

These are awesome! I love how the golden yellow of the trees reflects on the blue water . . .

We interrupt this weeks Colorado programing to bring you :

A Rainbow!

I know, awesome right??! I didn't know my camera even had the capability to capture that! I thought when I zoomed in real close, the color would fade.
On the contrary!
The sun was a just the right angle at 8:40 a.m. for us to see a rainbow in the sprinkler, so of course I grabbed my camera . . . and it just got better and better!

And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations : I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh."
 ~ Genesis  9 : 12 - 15

And as I read that just now, it hit me exactly why he needed to make the promise at all. You and I are used to rain, it's normal. But for these people, this was the first time it had ever rained, and it destroyed almost all mankind and livestock! The next time it started raining they would think "Oh no! God is going to flood the earth again!". So God made that promise to show them that He was not going to flood the earth ever again, and they needn't worry next time H2O molecules fell from the sky.

Colorado - Bear lake

Don't worry, we didn't run into any bears. =P
Though we did see:

A lake!

Yeah, I know, big surprise.   =D
(Though it would have been very surprising if we went to bear lake and there wasn't a lake!)

The water . . . you would not believe how clear it was!

I mean, it was completely crystal clear!



And then from other angles it was that picturesque, sparkling, sapphire.

    A huge rock  near the path . . .  (I just had to go climb it)

And that furry rodent we call a squirrel!
