"Honor your father and mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you."
My great Grandmother is turning 100 in January.
So we had brought a surprise birthday party to her . . .
We brought her favorite flower, Gladiolas, balloons (what's a birthday without balloons???) and delicious cupcakes.
The most important thing we brought, of course, was ourselves. ;)
Then, after we had all finished our scrumptious cupcakes, we brought out the slideshow we'd made. Pictures from her life - beginning at 1915, right up to the present- she's lived a full life!
Always working, always cheerful, & always loving.
She loved it- she told story after story as we clicked through the years . . .
By ordinary standards, it was a very quiet birthday party, we didn't all talk at once, and in fact we didn't talk very much at all- because this was a time to listen- "there is a time to keep silence, and a time to speak." {Ecclesiastes 3:7} and we wanted to hear every word she said. =)
We love you Granny <3
Through His Grace,
~Jenny
I'm really a stranger who follows your blog...but I just want to say what a wonderful person your granny must be. She doesn't even look like 100! You are so blessed!
